this is your kingdom yoghurt fest

On Friday I was lucky enough to be invited to the Yeo Valley HQ in the middle of the beautiful Somerset countryside for a little social meet up with the lovely ladies from This Is Your Kingdom!

I started contributing to TIYK a few months ago and love writing articles for them on my favourite places to visit. It's such a genius idea, created by the lovely Rebecca and Hannah, and if you haven't checked out their website before now, then I urge you to! You may discover some wonderful things to do that you never knew existed!

I wasn't entirely sure of what to expect from our visit to Yeo Valley, and I certainly wasn't prepared for the amazing views we were treated to from the restaurant when we arrived. We all had a little chat and put names to faces etc before being treated to a very interesting cooking demonstration where we were shown how to make our own butter, soda bread, cured trout and the most amazing basil ice-cream, all to taste afterwards of course!

We then had a short tour around the building, taking in all the amazing decor in each of the rooms! The company history and ethos really is inspiring, knowing that it has grown and remained family run and local, using the very best ingredients for their recipes. After our tour we were seated for lunch (yep more eating!) and were served the most delicious salmon en croute, vegetable dauphinoise, potato wedges and veg, all rounded off with some more of that amazing basil ice-cream! (I was too excited to take any photos of our dinner before I put it in my face, soz) We were in heaven! Add that to lovely conversations, inspiring ladies and stunning views it really was perfect.

After lunch we headed down to the gardens and tea rooms, and were tempted with more cake! Unfortunately I had to leave early and missed the tour around the gardens, but I had such a good day. I met some lovely new people, met fellow Bristol bloggers Lou, Catherine and Lottie in the flesh and had some really inspiring conversations!

And thank you to Yeo Valley for having us, it was great to have a peek into the company, sample their delicious food and receive the amazing cookbook and enough yoghurt to swim in!

I was invited to Yeo Valley for the day as a guest, but received no payment (other than lots of free yoghurt!) for writing this post! All thoughts are my own!

Also my memory card is broken at the moment, so I was left only with my trusty iphone to capture these images, so forgive me if they aren't the best!
