Wearing : All the glitter

I believe this is the first time I've ever done this, so it's a big moment for me...but here is an outfit post!

I've been slowly trying to build up my confidence of showing my face on this here blog, as its not something I feel totally comfortable with. Bringing in posing and showing ALL of me is something else entirely, but I like looking at outfit posts so thought I should eventually try it out...and it wasn't too painful!

This is my "it's nearly Christmas so I can wear glitter ALL the time, Saturday errand running" outfit. The sun was reasonably warm, and even though the frost remained in the shade it was warm enough to not be bundled up in a coat (for short periods of time!)

As some of you may know I am slightly obsessed with glitter clothing, and I've been lucky recently and found some gems in the charity shop, and I'm considering wearing it all the time...because after all glitter is for life, not just for Christmas.

Details:

Cardigan - Hand-knitted thrifted
Denim Shirt - Thrifted
Glitter skirt - Thrifted
Shoes - Topshop
Handbag - Thrifted

Theo wears:

Jumper - Next
Dungarees - Tootsa Macginty
Boots - Clarks

In honour of being featured on the wonderful Hibbs100 sharing about my thrifty ways, I thought I'd show you some recent finds, all the way from Barcelona.

On a hot and sunny Sunday after a bit of wandering and lunch we stumbled upon a flea market that happens once a month. I love a good flea market, a little like a car boot sale, but much less organised into neat rows. We weaved our ways through the crowd whilst Theo snoozed in his pushchair, pawing over the rails vintage clothing and wares. We came away with three items each, spending a grand total of about 13€ each, perfect items for the upcoming summer!

A few photos from the flea itself...

Another week and a few new finds and a couple from the past few months! Now that the weather is better going for little walks has become more frequent, and it's fun to just pop out and have a little snoop around our local charity shops. I hope to visit more car boot sales over the next few months too, and perhaps even do our own as we have lots of things to get rid of!

1- A vintage fisher price play house, complete with people, dogs, a car and furniture // 2 & 3 - A thick breton top and hand knitted cardigan for the boy // 4 - A denim pinafore for me

bargain hunt

We woke early to a sunny morning on Sunday and were out the house by 8.30am to drive the short way to the next town in Devon to the fairly regular car boot sale that occurs there.  I haven't been to a car boot in quite a while, and I do enjoy a good old rummage through peoples unwanted things every now and then.We missed the big one on the bank holiday, but I didn't mind so much because when they're too big I always feel a little over whelmed and that I'm missing bits and potential bargains. I like to plan our route and itinerary, making sure we don't miss a stall. The sun was shining and people were in good moods, we chatted and bartered with stall holders and came away with some goodies!

We did pick up a few other things, mainly for Theo, including some Thomas wellies, a mechanical crane, a toy pushchair and toy cars.

I'm looking forward to many more car boot sales to come!

charity shop #2

Another little charity shop haul made over the last few weeks. Mainly it's from my trip to Malvern a week or two ago, and mainly it's all for Theo! He already has quite a good collection of Thomas dye-cast models that Rob found when someone was selling them outside their house for cheap, but this was too good to pass up even though my mum haggled them down! We're also collecting orignal Thomas story books by the Rev.W.Awdry and Theo likes to have them read to him at bedtime. I remember playing with a till like this when I was little so I couldn't really pass it up, it's probably a little too old for Theo at the moment, so we'll save it for Christmas or something. It's so rare to find good clothes for Theo in charity shops these days, toddler boy clothes are hard to come by, so of course when I saw these I had to buy them, they're a little too long at the moment, but hopefully they'll last! And finally a little treat for me!

Recently around here

We've been hanging in the park and the sunshine with some friends and other sweet babies and little boys!

And we've been 'thrifting' lots recently! New buys include: the next winter coat, staple stripey tops, new nappies, cheeky wipes, and lots of denim including mini levis! Some new blouses for me, a new chair and of course the new climbing frame and balls for the boy.

We're off to Oxford and London this weekend to go visit my dearest friends, I'm so excited. One to go to London as I haven't been in nearly two years...two years? That doesn't sound right? and of course to secondly to see my friends, who have all managed to be able to make it as well, a very very rare occasion...AH so excited! Hope everyone else has a good weekend too!
