We love: House by John Lewis

 photo johnlewis_zpsb8bfc114.jpg

Today I braved the start of the Christmas shopping and headed to the shops to see what they had on offer. I don't really tend to do my present shopping in big retail stores, preferring to support local business's or online boutiques, but it's nice to go and have a look and see all the pretty things on offer. But whilst in John Lewis a few items caught my eye, all from the House collection. The colours, designs and style are exactly my taste, and every new item I saw I cooed and lusted over them! The prices are pretty reasonable for most of the items, and I generally feel that John Lewis products are usually pretty great quality. There are so many items I've added to my wish list, but here are just a few! So you know if anyone wants to buy me any for Christmas I wouldn't be disappointed!

Items from clockwise:

Bowls // Wire wastepaper basket // Throw // Coffee Table // Mug // Wallpaper

This isn't a sponsored post, I really do love them!

we love...little bird

So after spending a weekend out in the beautiful Welsh countryside sleeping in a tent it was easy to notice the slight change in temperature as we slowly but surely head towards Autumn. This season gets me excited for many reasons; the colours, trees, bonfires, warming soups and crisp mornings, and of course a new wardrobe. Rediscovering forgotten jumpers and boots and of course finding new items to add.

The other day I stumbled upon the new Little Bird collection by Jools Oliver for Mothercare, and fell in love. I've seen previous collections but I literally love pretty much every piece in this collection. And yes I know I don't have a girl to dress, but if I ever did, this is what I would want her to wear. Reminiscent of the dresses and shoes of my childhood, along with amazing collars, patterns and colours I just love it all. I do shop for children's clothes on the high street, because as much as I would like to be able to afford all the amazing boutique clothing companies, we just can't. So when a collection like this comes along, that is well designed to be comfortable for children as well as unisex and more affordable then its a winner in my book!

we love....pyjamas!

I haven't done a "we love" in a while now, in fact I've not done anything in a while. This whole getting back to normal is taking longer than I anticipated. I've got a million things I want to write about but when it comes down to it I just don't seem to have the inspiration. Maybe its the time of year, the clocks changing and a wedding come down but things are moving slow and sluggish.

But as winter is coming (in perhaps not such a game of thrones ominous way...) it's getting me feeling  all cosy and nothing says cosy like a new pair of pjs, well for Theo anyway! And seeing as we have a daily battle to get him dressed out of said pyjamas as he love wearing them he may as well have some fun and awesome ones to wear for the WHOLE day...is it acceptable to let them leave the house in them?

Anyway here are a few of my current loves...

1- mini boden // 2 - Ava and Luc via Kyna Boutique // 3 - mini rodini // 4 - John Lewis // 5 - Hatley //
6 - The Bright Company via Archies Boutique // Gap

I think the Hatley train pair would blow Theo's mind...

So lately I've had my eye on lots and lots of leggings! We've always been a fan of leggings over here, but suddenly there seems to have been an explosion of amazing designs around. These are some of my favourites I've been drooling over in internet land!

One: Tootsa Macginty Bude harem pants // two: Beau Loves Davenport triangle pants via Archies Boutique // three: Indikidual banana print leggings via Milly Mog // four: Mason and the Tambourine Teepee no.2 leggings // five: Mason and the Tambourine Ridges no.2 leggings // six: Thief & Bandit Stalactite leggings // seven: Thief & Bandit Mountain print leggings  // eight: Lotiekids Elephant leggings // nine: Lotiekids Bicycle print leggings  // ten: Indikidual yellow banana harem via Archies Boutique // eleven: Indikidual humbug jumpsuit via Archies Boutique

we love...

I don't think I've ever made it a secret of how much we love dungarees / overalls over here. Theo always has a few pairs on the go and I just don't think there is anything sweeter or classic than a child in dungarees. He's worn them since he was a baby and I hope we can still find ones to fit as he gets older! We always get compliments whenever he wears them (particularly his tootsa macginty ones!) and I just love the practicality of them. In the summer there is nothing better than just throwing on a vest or t-shirt with a pair of short dungarees or rolled up legs and going out on an adventure!

Here are a few of my favourites that I have spotted around the good old internet recently. Obviously Osh Kosh has to be in this list as a classic dungaree brand. I've had my eye on these Tootsa Macginty stripey carpenter dungers for a while now, just need to save the pennies! The next are these amazingly handmade dungarees by the wonderful What Mother Made and I have been swooning over these dungarees plus everything else on their website since it popped up a few days ago in my feed! As for what the high street has to offer, I'm in love with these little short dungarees from Zara, as well as the full length classic denim.

The thing I love most about dungarees is that they are pretty unisex too, and even though some of these picks could be considered more 'boy' orientated they could definitely be for girls too. So hooray for dungarees!
