The best bluebell woods near Bristol
I can’t decide whether Spring is arriving quickly or slowly this year? It feels like all the blooms and blossoms are out early, but the weather still is tricking us into thinking it’s still winter, requiring thick coats and hiding from the rain. But I’ve been noticing the bluebells peeking up on the verges and of course I’ve been gearing up for my own mini sessions in the bluebell woods near me.
They always take a little longer to bloom but when they do the whole forest floor is covered creating this almost glow or haze of purple. It’s so magical, and I say that with the least amount of whimsy! I do love being around the trees and nature though and it really is such a peaceful place to hang out for half an hour or so, and ok ok maybe I’ve hugged a tree once or twice! But trust me, it IS magical in the bluebell woods.
I thought I’d share a few of my favourite photos from over the years of meeting families and showing them the beauty of the place. I love when people return to have their photos taken too so I can help create those memories and see how they’ve grown and changed!
My sessions are like a little toe dip into the world of family photography, they’re shorter and seem to fly by (which is why I’ve actually made them a little longer this year) but the woods are so perfect for exploring that hopefully we can get some natural shots of you all enjoying your time together. I totally get that photoshoots aren’t for everyone and it can be really daunting, you might not feel natural in front of the camera (I am a firm member of that club!) or you might be worried that the kids are going to run off and be wild, but I can say that I’ve seen it all, I like wild kids and I’m a pretty fast runner…There’s no perfect way to be and really I want to capture your individual family, whatever that may look like. I also force my children to have their photo taken up there every year so I know what it’s like attempting to get the *perfect image which in reality is never as cheerful as you hope it might be!!
We don’t really do over posed photoshoots around here, so honestly anything goes!
Anyway, if you fancy hanging in the woods with me a still have a couple of sessions left which will be happening in the next few weeks, and the weather actually looks like it’s going to warm up a little (everything crossed!!)
